Ok, so life happened and I fell off the blogging band wagon, again. In my defence, I was in America for two weeks travelling up the west coast, and while it was absolutely 100% the most amazing trip of my life, it was so hectic and as a result my poor corner of the internet became neglected.
I'm back, and coming at you today with a make up look I've been loving since returning to the UK. Autumn is well and truly upon us and as you can see from this first photo, the roll necks have made a strong come back in my winter wardrobe. Alongside my cosy wardrobe, my make up has also had a bit of an Autumn update; it's almost as if admiring the gorgeous red and orange coloured leaves has somehow engraved onto my brain and is showing through the colours on my eyelids...bit weird? Yeah I thought so too.
My base makeup rarely changes. I'll sometimes try out a new foundation, or a new concealer, but I'll never stray for long as my trusty trio, L'oreal Infallible Matte Foundation, Maybelline Eraser Eye concealer and Bourjois Healthy Balance Compact Powder never let me down. I warm my face with the Rimmel Sun Shimmer Bronzer (in matte), sculpt some sort of cheek bone using the Sleek contour kit, and finally add some glow to the high points of my face using the Mary Lou Manizer by The Balm.
Call me predictable but rusty reds and warm oranges have become my absolute go-to shades this Autumn. I used the Morphe 35W palette to create this look, using the bright (don't be intimidated!) orange in the crease and deepened it using the brick red shade. I also added a light shimmery colour to the lid to brighten things up a bit.
To finish everything off, I applied a brown eyeliner pencil across my top and bottom lash line, smudged it out with more of the gorgeous oranges and reds and then applied lashings of mascara.
On my lips I used 'Cream in your Coffee' by MAC as I felt the warm brown colour really tied the earthy colour palette together. If you're not one for a bold brown lip, you could definitely wear this with a more nude colour such as Charlotte Tilbury's 'Very Victoria' or Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in 'Boho Nude'.
What do you think of this makeup look? I really enjoyed creating it and hope to upload some more of my favourite looks soon so any feedback would be gratefully received!
Ellie x
