November Favourites

Can you believe November is over already and we're now practically in the month of pigs in blankets and fairy lights?!  This month's favourites appear to be quite Topshop and Maybelline heavy. Strange, because these are two brands which I have never been overly fussed by but seem to be making their mark in my make up bag.

My first favourite this month is the Topshop Contour Cream in 'Sweep'.  I have a full review planned for you soon, so I don't want to give too much away!  All I'll say is hallelujah! Finally, a drugstore contour cream that isn't at all orange, blends beautifully and creates sharp looking cheekbones.

I've already done a full review of MAC Whirl here, but I just had to mention it again as it hasn't left my lips since the day I bought it.  It is matte but creamy, not at all drying and pairs beautifully with my next favourite, Topshop Lipliner in 'Ceramic'.  Having bought this on a whim after running out of my Rimmel Exaggerate Lipliner, I was surprised to like it so much!  I love that it is quite a peachy nude, so can be worn under loads of different colours.  It is smooth to apply and really helps my lipstick stay all day.

Next up, Topshop nail varnish in 'Plie'.  I'm such a lover of nude nails;  I think they look so classic and elegant, plus, I have quite stubby little hands so I find a nude colour nail helps extend my fingers a little bit!  The colour is perfectly opaque after two coats and has a good 5-7 days wear before any signs of chipping.  Topshop nail varnishes never fail to impress me, and this is no exception.

If you can't wear glitter at Christmas, when can you wear it?!  Maybelline's Crystal Nail Varnish in 'Rose Chic' has been a solid favourite of mine this month, applied just on my index finger as a statement nail.  Many glitter nail varnishes can look so impressive in the bottle, but are a bit disappointing when applied.  Maybelline have got it right this time by packing the varnish so chockablock with glitter particles that you only need one coat for it to be opaque.

Last but not least, I've been loving Maybelline's Colour Tattoo in 'Creamy Nude' as a base before applying my eyeshadows.  It applies smoothly, hides any transparency in my eyelids, and stops my eyeshadow from creasing or disappearing throughout the day.  Although I don't own it myself,  I've heard that this is a drugstore dupe for MAC's Painterly Paint pot.  I would love to hear from someone who has tried both as to whether the two products really are that similar!

I hope everyone has had a lovely November and your Christmas celebrations are now in full swing (I know mine are!).  What are your favourites this month?

Amour, Ellie xxx
